About This Artist
This group is composed of young, exceptional musicians, each having accomplished noted successes within their own instrument. Daniel Blair (16), violinist, has been concert master of the Symphony of the Mountains for the past three years and is now a member of the Knoxville Youth Symphony, having received many awards in contests, auditions, and symphony performances. He attends Northeast Technical Community College as a pre-med student. James Ross, Jr. (17) cellist, is also proficient in piano, as well as, cello; and has been a member of local youth and adult symphonies in the tricities area. He is a senior at Science Hill,and has been noted with superior ratings in auditions through the years in both piano and cello. Gregory Wang (14) pianist, is the youngest of the group, though, he has placed as the winner for the last two years in the Tennessee Music Teachers Association State Piano Competition. He has been a soloist with symphony orchestras in the tricities and Knoxville area. Tenacity will include in their program, Beethoven's "Ghost Trio"; Piano Trio in C Minor, by Brahms; and the Mendelssohn Piano Trio in D Minor. Locally, the boys have played at the Paramount Theater in the "Tunes at Noon" series and will be included in the new Chamber series in the Spring.They are very active in civic and community performances and entertainment throughout the region. As a trio, Tenacity has won many state and local awards and recognition since their beginning in 2003.
