Fall 2009 Schedule brings Smoke, Jazz and the Crooked Road to Kingsport
Kingsport, TN ( July 31, 2009) The Cultural Arts Division of the City of Kingsport in conjunction with the Arts Council of Greater Kingsport announces the fall line-up of concerts for the Art Nights/City Lights performing arts series at the Kingsport Renaissance Center, 1200 East Center Street in Kingsport, TN. Tickets for concerts are on sell now and can be purchased on-line at www.KingsportARTS.org or by calling 423-392-8417. The concerts are sponsored in part by the Tennessee Arts Commission’s Touring Arts program.
Tuesday, September 1 7:30 PM Smoke on the Mountain
Performed by the Cumberland County Playhouse
The year is 1938. It's Saturday night in Mount Pleasant, NC, and the Reverend Oglethorpe has invited the Sanders Family Singers to provide an upliftin' evening of singin' and witnessin'. The audience literally becomes the congregation. An audience favorite, this play will leave you smiling, laughing and humming a tune.

Thursday, September 17 7:30 PM Freddy Cole in Concert
Join the jazz master from the famous Cole family in an unforgettable concert. Nat King Cole's brother and his quartet sings and plays classic songs of his era, easy listening jazz, the styles and swings of Sinatra, Billie Holliday and other jazz greats.

Conductor Jack and the Zinghoppers was described as "Leon Redbone meets Sesame Street Live" by Billboard Magazine.

Thursday, October 29 7:30 PM The Tams in Concert
THE TAMS have been entertaining and thrilling audiences for over 40 years! Known for such hits as "Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy", "What Kind of Fool", "I've Been Hurt" and "Untie Me", The Tams have had 2 Gold Records, and 1 Platinum Single. Though their style of music has historically been referred to as Beach Music, it can be also classified as a mixture of Smooth Soul, and R&B. Their show is fun, fresh and exciting and appeals to audiences of all ages and musical tastes.

Friday, November 6 7:30 PM Dale Jett and Hello Stranger & Whitetop Mountain Band
The Crooked Road comes to Kingsport with an exhibit in the Renaissance Center’s Atrium Gallery and a fantastic concert featuring third-generation Carter family member, Dale Jett.

The Renaissance Center is located at 1200 East Center Street in Kingsport. The 3-story building features an art gallery, 345-seat theatre and meeting rooms available for the community. The facility is also home to various arts organizations as well as the community’s senior center.
